Wild plants acclimatization
In recent years Eli Galili has led a fascinating and successful process of acclimatizing wild plants and habituating them into cultivated crops. In essence, the process of acclimatization deals with growing various species in an environment not synonymous to their natural habitat, from aspects of both weather and soil condition. It is a prolonged and challenging process and is often not, or only partially, prosperous. Recently Eli Galili has succeeded in performing acclimatization of the A’kub (Gundelia tournefortii L.) and the Autumn Mandrake (Mandragora autumnalis), both possessing medicinal and culinary merits, and successfully cultivated them in the fields of the Upper Galilee.
